Mike self-publishes as The Adam Press, after his Dad, Adam Smith, thus keeping control of all aspects of the publishing process. Rarely does he reject himself! The image in the logo, painted by Mike's Dad, is of Pinfold Cottage, Bainton, East Yorkshire, where Mike's family lived for a long time.
Erstwhile 'Lovers of Poetry' should be aware that they enter this book at their own risk and no reponsibility can be taken by the author for subsequent damage to the sensitivities, sensibilities or dignity of any reader.
Mike's first public performance was at the then Gate Arts Centre in Goole. The inset photo is of Mike's Dad from whom Mike seems to have inherited a natural inclination for rhythm and rhyme.
His Dad called it doggerel, but he probably 'undersold' himself!

The Pandemic in three books of Rhythm & Rhyme
It took Mike three months to think of this title! In his defence it was meant to promote the idea that we might leave plenty of photographs for family when we die but why not leave 'written' photos? He says he used the word 'verse' because he didn't dare call it poetry....

Chapbooks
As far as I understand it, chapbooks started out as little books of poems, sold / handed out in the street during the 1600s, and, it seems, ever since.
Chapbooks had up to 25 pages or so: thus the format of my very own chapbooks in 2024!
For the moment I am home-printing and binding my chapbooks a few at a time, giving them to people I think might be interested - without insisting acceptance!
Where I do make a charge, it's £3. If recipients wish to make a charity donation in their own time, that would be great.

Somebody once commented that printing my own books must be costly. Actually it isn't, at all. But doing it - to share what I write -gives me great pleasure, apart from fulfilment.
It's way, way - and way again - cheaper than an annual golf subscription ... should that be your interest!
No further comment, m'lud!
