"It was like in-service training and entertainment rolled into one. Not only were the children fired up when we went back to the classroom but we were all able to have a go at creating our own performance poems, using your models and starting-points. I felt confident that I knew what I was doing - and could do again. Great!"

The Rhythm of Language in Performance

Mike's combined poetry performance models how words and actions can be expressed in performance and how we can generate ideas from our own experience.

By participating with Mike as he performs his poems, children enjoy the bounce of the beat and the tapping of the feet as they experience and absorb the rhythms of 'ordinary language made special'.

I am happy to accommodate up to 70 children or so in one session.

Having promoted and spent so many years working and performing my stories and poems in primary schools in the UK and around the world, I couldn't bear to delete everything from this and other Schools pages.

I've already deleted the main Gallery page - these are a few remnants, for memories!

Pump up the language!
